art and craft day-website-OptimizedJoin us to try out some art and crafts – for beginners and ‘old hands’ alike. An opportunity to attend 2 workshops from a choice of 4, meet other people who like to create beautiful pieces and share ideas.

Tracey Castro
Make unusual pieces of art using merino wool fibres, pva glue and water. Use poems for inspiration. The pieces can be decorated with things like beads, sequins and ribbon for unique pictures. All materials provided. A simple (if a little sticky) but effective technique!

Louise West
Bobbin lace in England can be traced as far back as the 16th century and has a long history in the East Midlands. Beginners will be introduced to some basic techniques of lacemaking and more experienced lace-makers may learn techniques which will help them to progress.  Everyone welcome!

Barbara Godfrey
For absolute beginners and those with experience. Bring some yarn and appropriate knitting/crochet needle size, or any project that has become too difficult to continue. The tutor can provide some yarn, needles and simple patterns. If it’s your first attempt Double Knitting (DK) yarn and 4mm needles are recommended for knitting.

Jo Rispin
Using a variety of ‘dry papier-mâché’ techniques and decoupage learn to make your own unique sculptures. Have fun and let your imagination go!
