The forgotten empires – Summer 2015

Brue, Adrien Hubert, Asie-Mineure, Armenie, Syrie, Mesopotamie, Caucase. 1839. (I)Western Europe has been dominated for 2000 years by the influence and memory of the Roman Empire. Behind and beyond this are earlier cultures; The Phoenicians, Carthaginians and Etruscans amongst others had a rich history and archaeology. We will investigate these remarkable peoples and consider their contribution to Western Culture.
